Removing Edge Server

Has anyone here removed an Edge Server yet?

I have read that it needs to be done from both
the hub and edge. What if your edge is down?

This doesn't sound right. Let me know if you have
any experience with this and what you did.

You remove ET subscription info just from the hub transport server in this scenario. Use:

Remove-EdgeSubscription -Identity ETServerName

You can also do it within Exchange Management Console as well.

How to Remove an Edge Subscription

If your edge is already down, there's no need to remove the subscription info from it. You would need to do this if you wanted to resubscribe the ET server to another AD site or something like that.
