Cisco Practice Exams-Transcender vs Preplogic

The Transcender/Selftest practice exams seem to be the preferred/best for the MS tests. Is there any preference as far as the Cisco (ccna/ccent) practice exams? Currently, Preplogic is offering a special for $49(802) and Selftest for $79(802). Also, is there any benefit (aside from cost saving) to using separate exams (icnd1 and icnd2) vs a single 802 ccna practice exam, if the goal is to achieve ccent first (as opposed to trying for ccna in one test)?

Anyone have any experience with Preplogic vs Selftest/Transcender for Cisco (not MS) products? Are Preplogics practice tests for Cisco products better/worse/the same as the Selftest/Transcender practice tests. I know how they compare with the MS material.

I like Transcender's test engine and explanations better. Transcender was a bit frustrating for CCENT because of some errors and content that was beyond the scope of the exam. However, the vast majority of the questions were good.

If you want the CCENT you must take the two exam route, the single test doesn't give you CCENT. There is no particular benefit to doing it either way, unless you really want the CCENT. Also, taking the single exam costs the same as taking both the seperate exams, so there is no cost savings either.

I have used both products. In 2000, I bought the suite of Transcender practice exams for the MCSD cert track(vb, sql server 7, and solutions architecture). The product was very good. I passed all exams quite easily and I had no experience using any of the software, and relied on my decades of application development and database background.

In the last 18 months, I have been upgrading my skills in SQL Server 2005. For exam 70-431 I used Prep Logic practice exams and study material. They were very good. I did not go with Transcender because I had read somewhere that they were taken over by Kaplan, and that all the exam designers left the company. I passed 70-431 with a very good score, and no practical work experience with the product, other than doing the practice exercises in the ms press training kit, reading documentation and fooling with the software.
Now I am on to SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence-70-445. Same deal, but I have extensive background in BI from a job I worked at a while back. I oversaw the sales and marketing application development team. Started with the ms press kit, did the exercises, then worked through the ms press practice exams. Prep Logic does not have a 70-445 exam and study materials otherwise I would have bought them. I decided to go with Transcender. The materials and exams seem to be pretty good, and indepth.

I just recently used PrepLogic practice exams for my upgrade from MCSE to MCITP, and was pretty happy with the quality of their training. Actually, I know there haven't been any posts here in while. Preplogic has really stepped up their game. Their new LMS video training thing is awesome. You can basically like put in when you want to take your test, and the thing adjusts with you as you study and paces you and everything. PrepLogic's product is really evolving.

Aren't you confused between CCNA and CCENT? AFAIK CCENT is half of CCNA, and to get CCNA it is needed to pass that second half too.

CCNA can be achieved with either one exam: 640-802 CCNA

-or two exams:
640-822 ICND1
640-816 ICND2

CCENT is just one exam, 640-822 ICND1.
