in CCNA & CCENT
This question is on behalf of a friend who passed his Intro (now retired exam) exam in October 2006. Can he still sit just the ICND2 to obtain the CCNA? Or does he have to do ICND1 and ICND2 now? Thanks.

But the question could have been better worded as " For how long is the Intro exam valid, 2 or 3 years? " . I know that combining Intro and ICND2 gets you the CCNA, so if he passed the Intro in Oct 2006, all he has to take is the ICND2 ?? -

A.2.1 Complete 1.
(640-811) ICND. (Attempted)
(640-816) ICND2.
A.2.2 Complete 1.
(640-821) INTRO. (Completed)
(640-822) ICND1
How would you decipher the above from his certification tracker? The way I see it, he's got to pass one test each from A.2.1 and A.2.2. Since the ICND is not offered anymore, he has to pass the ICND2 and be a CCNA. Correct? -
