Does anyone have or taken or plan to take this certifcation from comptia?

I notice in the comptia section, it is not listed so I figured that might be a bad sign.

CompTIA CDIA+ Certification

Any useful input is welcome,

At least reply with a vote - NO or YES to is it worth taking....

Thanks!

um, how about "maybe?" It really depends on whether it's geared towards what you want to do. I don't plan on going into document imaging/management so it doens't do anything for me, but if I WERE to choose that path then I would at least consider it. And apparently, from the blurb in the upper right corner of CompTIA's website section for this exam, Hyland Software requires that you take it, so if you plan on working for them or similar companies that work on this type of stuff, then go for it. If not, then save your money.

I think the big reason you don't see much talk of this certification on the forums here is while it's technology related - it does tend to be a somewhat separate field than most IT workers. If you plan to work for a company selling, installing, or servicing copiers then it would be a good fit. From my experience though, many of the copier sales staff, installers, repair people that come through our company are very skilled with what they do, but generally know little about the rest of the technology world. Even when dealing with getting them setup on the network I find that we often have to step in and take over rather than just providing the proper addressing the copier would need.

If you wanted to use this to gain an advantage in a more IT related role I would probably pass on it. If you wanted to use this to gain an advantage in a role dealing mostly with copiers and whatnot, then it might be a good idea.

The CDIA+ has been around for years, so it's well out of beta.
