270 vs 271

in MCDST
I passed the 270 yesterday and have booked this exam for 20th Feb. I'm hoping there isnt too much difference between the two. I'll be using some transcender exams to check the question style.

But my question to you lot is. Has anyone else gone this way 270, 271, 272 and if so how much harder is the 71 to the 70?

    You should find the MCDST exams significantly easier than 270.

    I done it this way as were I work the guys I have on shift with me done it this way and gave me their books etc. So I just followed their way lol.

    Should I be okay with just transcender exam questions

    Well, I think they do cover some material that 270 doesn't, so I'm not sure if that'll be enough. Be sure to review the exam objectives and use Google, Technet, etc. to fill in the gaps.

    As others have said, the 270 is much harder than the 271 /272.

    You will breeze the 271 if you know your 270 stuff - its mostly XP based.

    However, the 272 although similar concentates on applications like Outlook, Outlook Express, Office etc., so swot up on these.

    I used the Exam Cram Bundle ( 2 books) for the 271 /272 exams and although I put a lot of work into it, found them to be ok and I got good marks.

    The 270 was much deeper and wider and I struggled on that but passed with a 715 :)

    I have the book for 270, and I saw that the exam questions were almost the same for the 271 exam.
    I believe that I will just go through the 270 book then revert back to the 271.

    While studying for the 271, i took 270 and 271 practice tests. I felt the 270 practice test was actually a lot better study material for the 271 then the ms press book 271 practice tests

    After i pass the 272 this week to get my MCDST, im going to take the 270 exam just because the material is so fresh in my mind. Then its off to 621 for MCITP upgrade, then on to MCSA
