Windows Size

in CCNA & CCENT
Hello everyone...
Wondering if anyone knows who sets the window size with TCP communication? Train Signal says that the receiving host will set the window size, while CBT Nuggets says the sender keeps sending more and more segments until it determines a good window size. Can anyone clarify? Thanks in advance!

The recieving Host is the one that sets the window length Netwicked.
What Jeremy meant in cbt vids is that example
I will throw you balls and youll catch em
i will keep adding more quantity until you cant catch them all
then the window is set
one less than when you couldnt catch.
meaning you set the window.
sometimes this will go up and down because the servers is trying to see if perhaps now it can send more(maybe at the moment when packets got dropped it was because there was some overload or lag or w/e).
But of course if the sender cannot send more than example 100kbps, dont expect more than that even though your window could be I dont know... 400kbps
good example of this is P2P.meh
