AMD Athlon 64 X2 ?

I am looking into buying a new laptop and I initially wanted a laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo cpu so I have come across this cpu I have described in the heading. Is this CPU AMD Athlon ™ X2 Dual Core QL-62 2GHz 667MHz, the same as an Intel Core 2 Duo Cpu? I know the Intel Core 2 Duo has 2 x 2 processor cores in 1cpu but I do not know much about the AMD.

Core 2 Duo has 2 CPUs in 1 package.
Core 2 Quad has 4 CPUs in 1 package.
The AMD Athlon X2 you listed has 2 CPUs in 1 package.

The Core 2 Duo is faster than an equivalent speed Athlon. The C2D is usually more expensive though.

I have the AMD Athlon 64 X2 and it works great for me! It's my first AMD.
