Status -- taking a study break for the night

in CCNA & CCENT
All,
Just figured I would post my status on studying for ICND1. This weekend I made it through all 161 questions on the Boson practice test for the first time. By "made it through," I mean I tried to figure out the answer, and took notes when I got a question wrong. I feel smarter, especially on questions relating to broadcast and collision domains.
I still feel pretty weak on routing, but I haven't hit that one hard yet.
One thing that I have learned over the course of several certifications is NOT TO MEMORIZE the answers to practice tests by accident. It will lull you into a false sense of security where you think you know the material and instead you just remember the answers.
Anyway, just random comments. My brain is stuffed for now!

Sounds like you needed the break... How is the boson sim holding out for you?
So when you planning tosit for it?
What are you using to study?
I am trying to sit it as well. On the 23 April, using the official ICND1 cisco book

My main study guide is Odom's ICND1 book, with some supplementation via Technotes & Techlabs on this site. Also, Lammle's CCNA book for the subnetting section.
I'm hoping to sit for ICND 1 in March. The Boson practice test is great for exposing my weak areas!

You're on the right track with the Odom guide and the Boson engine. When I was studying for ICND1, the Boson engine helped me expose my weakness and helped me to think critically when working on conceptual problems.

If you pass the Boson exam, you'll blitz the real exam. It's much harder than the real thing.
