I have the opportunity to take a Microsoft exam to apply towards my MCSE. Honestly I don't care to much about getting MCSE, but I figure a free exam is a one step closer to something that I may go for.
I did study last fall for the 70-290 in a class I took, so I'm leaning in that direction. Honestly after using XP as long as I did before switching to Linux/Mac's recently I should be able to pass that exam as well.
Any advice, tips or thoughts would be appreciated.

People often underestimate the 70-270 XP exam, I wouldn't. It's harder than people think. But the material is boring. You'll get the most entertainment from 70-291.-Daniel

Go for 290: it's short, straightforward, doesn't cover much material and you already have a head start. 270 tests more that you do things "the Microsoft way" than actual knowledge.
