Memory Upgrades?

Does anyone know of a good website or place to get memory for Cisco Routers? I'd like to max my 871 but can't afford the Cisco premium. icon_sad.gif

The 871W takes a single low profile 128MB CL3 SDRAM DIMM. I'm guessing it is similar to the regular 871 but no guarantees. Also no guarantee that your model is different etc...

Yes. It is a special flash PCB. You need to buy the correct one.

Cisco RAM and flash upgrade guide

There is an instructable for adding memory as well it seems...

    2600s don't support 12.4. You need to get a 2600XM.

64MB RAM and 16MB flash is the maximum that a 2600 can take.

Something like IP Plus or above should cover pretty much everything you need for the CCNA.

You can actually run 12.4 on a 2600 as you've noticed. The 2600XM is just an upgraded version of a 2600. The main issue is that the small amount of RAM means that 12.4 is very short on memory and unstable due to that. Also you don't have very much flash so fitting in the larger featuresets isn't possible.

Not much. This looks like it should work and should fit. YMMV however.
