640-801 and 640-802

Hi guys, just a few questions.

I took my CCNA 640-801 last September, and failed :P the main problem was due to me being too damn slow with answering questions..I was slow at subnetting, so that didnt help.

Anyway, I have been studying since

and have improved greatly. I am looking to re-sit my CCNA and have noticed it has changed to 640-802. I checked the CISCO webby, and noticed the only main difference is the Wireless stuff. I was wondering how in-depth it goes into this new area. I have been studying using my old CCNA net-acadamy connection 3.1.

There is also security, IPv6 and more troubleshooting that's new. Overall about 25% of 640-802 is new or updated/enhanced when compared to the old 640-801.

The good news is that you don't have to study IGRP or ISDN.

If you're an Academy Alumni, you should have access to the new courseware for the courses you took.

Sweet, yeah I am looking forward to learning the new things. I just bought the Todd Lammle book with the new areas in, so that should help somewhat.

The only course material I can look at on my Acadamy Connection is the older stuff, CCNA 3.1. I'm not sure how you actually find the new course material.

Any ideas?

Ah I see, it appears the CCNA 3.1 has been replaced by Discovery and Exploration. So, the 802 exam is a both Discovery and Exploration combined? ..there is no course material for CCNA 802 as a whole, just the two seperate Discovery and Exploration?

The CCNA is EITHER Discovery OR Exploration. I find having two different tracks that supposedly get you to the same place confusing -- but I think you can tell the "more technical" one from the names. One semester of one teaches networking concepts and the other teaches home networking....

But I guess you could use both -- and we usually do suggest using more than just one source for study.
