70-291 Coming Soon...

I just realized I have my 70-291 scheduled for April Fool’s Day...this could be good or bad! I really appreciate some of the articles/resources several of you have posted, especially on DNS...DNS seems like an endless hole and you can go as deep as you want to. I hope I know enough for this exam. Aside from random study materials and job knowledge I've been using the Transcenders. I'm making about a 75% on them and in MOST cases can explain why each answer is wrong and why the one I picked is right. It seems the ability to due this is important as a small, seeming insignificant comment in the scenario can make the difference on it being one answer or another. Things like, "...and 3 Windows NT workstaitons.", could be key in realizing you cannot pick A your only option is C, etc. I've really been focusing on DNS this last week as it seems it and RRAS are the two biggest areas to bulk up on. I have the second shot of course, but I hope I won't need it. Feel free to post advice, especially those with experience with the Transcenders. Thanks!

Honky007 Member Posts: 26 ■□□□□□□□□□I hear you buddy, 70-291 is where I'm at now, and DNS is massive!! The resources on here have helped me no end.
Starts to make sense after reading through it over and over again and then talking it through with more knowledgable DNS experts!
All the best with your test, I'll be using Transcender once I've studied everything.
CBT nuggets is also very good for running you through the setup on the Server.
75% is pretty good, although normally I find I'm ready once I'm hitting 90-95% on the random exam.
Best of luck mate, tis a toughy that's for sure. -

Bingo.
I had about 4 or 5 questions similar to that for DNS and couple for RRAS, make sure to read the questions to the last dot. It does make a difference.
Good Luck. -

...for non-LoTR people...that means I passed on my first try!
LOTS AND LOTS of RRAS...IPSec, DNS, WSUS. Dig deep, don't skim the surface.
Thanks to Wedge for his study guide, which I have refered colleages to this forum for, as well as other resources on this site. As mentioned earlier, Transcenders were a large portion of my study materials as well.
On to MCSE...one step at a time though. Just a wonderful feeling to have this off of my shoulders. Good luck everyone who has yet to face the beast! -
