I'm preparing for the CCENT ICND 1 exam and setting up my lab with
a Cisco Catalyst 2924 xl switch with IOS v12.0 and (2) Cisco 2514 routers. Are these appropriate for the exam. The 2924 does not have the range or security port commands. The next best switch would be 2950 IOS v12.1? Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you are going to take it to the next level and head towards your CCNP and CCIE I would go with 2600XM series routers and either 3550 or 3560 switches. -

I was able to get a Cisco 3548 switch for my lab. I'm using CCENT - Odom and CBT Nuggets CCNA 640 801 for study materials. The decimal subnetting with lots of practice is good stuff. What practice tests are good? -

Would you say that the 2950Ts are insufficient for the CCNP track?
