A bit confused on cert requirements

So I've been looking over the requirements for MSCA here: MCSA on Windows Server 2003 Certification Requirements

and I'm a bit confused as to where the network+ cert comes into play as I can't seem to find it listed as something that counts towards it. Just getting a bit worried as I've spent a month or so going over the material and don't exactly want to waste a bunch of cash. Am I looking at the wrong list of required certs?

Thanks for any help in advance.

    You need to look here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/partners.mspx

You'll need (Net+ AND A+) OR (Server+ AND A+) OR (SECURITY+) in order to qualify.

If you don't want to waste a bunch of cash and the aim is MCSA, consider just taking a MS elective exam instead. You need A+ and Net+ together to substitute for an elective. That combo will cost way more than just an MS exam, and won't count towards MCSE if you want to go down that path.

Ahh I see. If that's the case... then I guess I wasted about a good couple weeks. Kinda lame. But yea, MSCE is the eventual path so if Net+ is relatively useless in that particular persuit then I guess I'll look into a different exam. Thanks for the advice so I didn't waste like $240 and a good month or 2 of my time.

Although I imagine the MS exams are more difficult to obtain material on... especially since I don't much feel like shelling out $500 a course for study materiall.. bleh.
