CIE - World University

After reading all the threads this weekend on online schools, I received information in the mail from CIE - Cleveland Institute of Electronics. They do offer both a AS and BS in IT. I am just wondering if anyone had done any of their classes on either level?

It looks like they are not regionally accredited: Higher Learning Commission=

I would stick with a regionally accredited school.

Check your local community colleges. I know in New Jersey, just about all of them have agreements with big name four year schools that let you get your AS/AA from the community college and your BA/BS from the four year school. You still attend your location or online, but are taught by the 4 year schools professor and your diploma will say the four year schools name. I know my program can be attend by students from a nearby community college and for only slight more then they were paying. Dramatically less then what I paid...

I can't speak for their computer courses but their electronic courses are very good. I graduated from course 11 which is electronic technology and advanced troubleshooting, a course geared towards troubleshooting and repair of consumer electronics. I work swing shifts that don't allow me to attend regular classes at my local college and the distance learning is the only way i can go.Ofcourse no school will teach you everything, somethings only come from hands on working experience, but what i learned from cie laid the groundwork so that i could learn more on my own from books, and working on all types of consumer electronics, amateur radio gear, guitar amps, and just about anything i can get my hands on.
