I do like that desk a lot. The side brackets or whatever you call them are very nice. Nice monitor mounts. Looks very clean. Where'd you get your desks FTB and LBF? Whenever I get my own place, I'm going all out on my desktop.

FDB, I can tell there's a best buy nearby. Nothing like Dynex branded CDs/DVDs and that USB hub. The random Memory stick shoved in the left corner is a nice touch.

I see you're doing some Ex 07 there Mr Dynamik. Or would that be a Ex 10 beta?

It's the discontinued Ikea Jerker desk.

Also, I used to work for Best Buy hence all the Dynex crap.

My roommate works for Best Buy as the head geek squad dude. I forgot his official title. You can get some serious discounts there as an employee. I bought like 250ft of cat 6, a crimper, and some crap ends for like $20 I think it was. That'll last me forever!

Ikea, sounds like a place I'll never step foot in.

All these photos look staged, and too clean. I'll post a real picture again, once I find my camera that is.

I used to say that, until I was dragged in kicking and screaming by the missus when we were moving in together and I first sampled the Ikea meatballs! My freezer is always full of them. Plus here in the UK you can get a full breakfast (minus toast......grrr) for £1.50. I'm not sure what the rest of the place is like though, I never leave the food hall ;)

Thought I would post some pictures of my main work space, router lab sits in the unfinished portion of our house which isn't really able to be navigated currently because of the midst of moving things around down there. Paint is going to be changed, it's orange which I like but we picked out a slightly lighter color orange to help the room brighten up a bit. With this darker orange it seems a bit dark in there. That and the current paint job is the result of being the last room we did on an all night painting binge on one of the nights shortly after we closed but had not moved everything in yet.

I'll have to snap some pictures of my desk. My father-in-law builds homes and knowing I was in need of a better workspace he surprised us with some nice silverish countertop and installed a L-shaped counter about 10' x 20' in my office. I have it cluttered all full of crap now, but it's very nice :)

    Desktop PC:

    Coolermaster Case of some sort
    Vista Ultimate x64
    Intel Core2Duo E8400 @ 3.6GHz
    8GB RAM

    EVGA 7200GS (for 3rd display)
    4x Seagate 500GB
    2x Seagate 160GB
    2x 17" LCD
    1x 19" LCD

    My Notebook:

    HP 6910p

    Intel Core Duo T2500

    80GB HDD (OS)
3x Seagate 1.5TB (RAID 5, thank god too - most unreliable drive I've ever owned)
MSI NX8600GTS (HDMI out w/ Audio)
Cheapo case, sits in home theater closet unnoticed

    File/Print Server:

    Server 2008 Standard

    Asus A8N-SLI
    4x Seagate 500GB (RAID 5

    4x Seagate 250GB (RAID 10 VM's)
    2x Seagate 80GB (Mirror OS)

Cisco 3500 Switch (not good for much else than home use)
Untangle Appliance (built on Intel mini-ITX AtomDuo mobo)

    Cisco Lab:

~40u worth of crap my wife constantly nags me about (and a lot of it is crap except for maybe 8 or 9 pieces).

Are you now able to mix different video cards on your SLI configuration? this was not possible back then.

Are you now able to mix different video cards on your SLI configuration? this was not possible back then.

The cards are not configured in SLI, it's just another card in a x16 slot for an extra display. That setup is no longer current anymore anyways, upgraded to an i7 and eliminated the 2nd video card and 3rd display and went with two 24" Asus LCD's, having a 3rd display won't be in the mix again until I get a display arm to swivel my 19" widescreen to display vertically to read PDF's on.

To provide counterpoint to Fade's and msteinhilber's "clean desk policy," I humbly submit a photo of the current state of my own work area. This is where I sit when I'm keeping my "moderator's eye" on all you guys icon_cyclops.gif
