This is the date I plan on taking my 70-270 exam at New Horizons in Memphis, Tennessee. I have taken the 2272 training class. Also, I have been studying the MOC. However, the first few practice tests I took were about 50% correct icon_sad.gif I'm starting to get a little intimidated. Therefore, I am planning on getting the ExamCram book for 70-270 and take more practice tests. I hope to do well. I will let you guys know. If there are any particular sections that are covered more, please let me know. Thanks and wish me luck.

Just got finished taking my exam.

    Unfortunately, got a 654.

But, no use crying over spilled milk, guess I'll be studying for the retake.

To help others out, I can give ya the highlights, no braindumps.

Obviously, 50 questions, 120 minutes. My exam was not adaptive. (Thank God!) It was all situational examples with either 1 multiple choice answer or choose (enter number here) answers from the list.

    The major topics were

1.) Laptops - Almost all situations were with laptops. Laptops connected to a domain, laptop not connected to a domain, etc. Therefore, know the uniques qualities in XP that make a laptop different from a tower.

2.) MMC - Open up MMC right now and know how to use the Computer Management Snap-In and the Local Security Policy Snap-In

3.) Networking - Know how a user can connect to multiple subnets

4.) Smart Card Encryption - Know how to set it up using the Windows XP GUI

5.) NTFS and Share Permissions - Know the rules

These 5 topics covered roughly 66% of the test

I'll let you know how my retake goes in 2 weeks

Excellent feedback. Great luck on the retake. If I remember, at VUE testing centers there was a promotion with MS that gave one free retake on selected XP/2003 exams. Not sure if you signed up with VUE to take the test, but you should look into it if you did.

    Best of luck,
