you need five years of information security experience, and teaching CCNP doesn't seem to me to be Information security experience.

Pass CompTIA Security+ to cut off one year of the five years, but then you'll need a job doing anything related to the CBK domains of CISSP.
Certs: GSTRT, GPEN, GCFA, CISM, CRISC, RHCE

If your teaching was focused primarily on the security related aspects then you could probably use the experience. I would say just teaching a regular CCNA/CCNP course might not qualify.

Best thing to do would be to contact ISC2 and ask them, you might be suprised.

You only need experience in two of the 10 CISSP CBK domains. An any cert on this list will waive one year of experience: (ISC)² Security Transcends Technology

In the words of the (ISC)2 Registrar: "We do not pre-qualify candidates for the exam." Have a look at the thread: http://www.techexams.net/forums/isc-sscp-cissp/41891-do-i-meet-work-requirements.html

If you have your heart set on the CISSP, then study, study, study, and study some more. If you pass the test without the experience you will see be awarded Associate of ICS2 until you gain the requisite experience.
