Windows 7 Beta
I apologize if this has been previously discussed here in the forums, but does anyone know if it's still possible to grab a (legit) copy of Windows Beta 7 out there somewhere? I missed the boat on that one -- I went to register for a key through Microsoft which I now have, but once I finished with the registration part of the process it redirected me to the download part of the site, where it told me that they are no longer offering the download.

Claymoore Member Posts: 1,637Do you know why they suddenly made it unavailable?
Because the Release Candidate will be available this week or next depending on which rumors you believe - although MSNBC is probably a credible source.

The 'Wndows XP Mode' VM additional download is pretty sweet. Now those poorly coded legacy apps can limp along a little longer.

And I agree - the more I play with W7, the more I see little details and cool tweaks that I would love to have seen in Vista. But it's good to see that they've taken a good idea & made it much better & smoother & less resource-hoggy, and that they've listened to customer feedback and have really acted on it.Currently Studying For: Nothing (cert-wise, anyway)

Mine is the BETA and still runs sweet as a nut so I dont see the point of upgrading for just a few small changes. -

I upgraded from Beta 1 to RC1 which went quite smoothly (uncountable reboots though ).
Cannot really say if it is a big difference because I haven't really worked enough with the Beta ..My own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -
