cheap Cisco Wireless router
Hello, Mr. Cisco guru(s)!
How's everybody today? ^^;;
I was looking over the eBay trying to find cheap wireless Cisco router?
I need something for home. Any Ideas?
Anything small and makes almost no noise would do!
(My wife complaines always when I work on my rack!)
Thank you!

malcybood Member Posts: 900 ■■■□□□□□□□do you mean a wireless router or an access point?
If it is a router the cheapest Cisco product which you can configure via CLI or web gui is the 800 series so an 857 or 877. You could prob get one for about £200 probably a bit less.
837's have gone end of life now but if it's just for messing about with at home you could pick one up on ebay.
There is also the Cisco SOHO90/91 range, but again they're EOL.
Anything above the 800 series with wireless cards you're beginning to talk serious £££ for a home lab.
If you're not bothered about Cisco command line, Linksys are a sub-division of Cisco and sell decent home wifi routers.
p.s. I hope you complain when your wife has trashy mtv reality shows and soaps on the TV! -

I'll look into (as suggested) look into 857 and 877.
BTW any good EOL ones? in 800 series?
that does at least CLI, works in 802.11b/g, and VPN?

malcybood Member Posts: 900 ■■■□□□□□□□Have a look at the data sheets to match up your requirements
Cisco 800 Series Routers Data Sheets - Cisco Systems
End of sale models which you could prob pick up on ebay
Cisco 837 ADSL Broadband Router - Cisco Systems
Again, have a look at the data sheets as there are lots of different options
