Quick Permission question...

Well two questions...
1) In order to rename a file, which permissions need to be allowed?
I've been trying to deny creating files, but when I deny it, I can't rename that file either...
2) Can you set a file to modify, but deny deleting that file?
This is for an exam in one of my classes, and I'm not sure if these are trick questions...

Paperclip Member Posts: 59 ■■□□□□□□□□I think 1 is a trick question. As far as I know, NTFS considers (from a security standpoint, not an actual disk operations standpoint) renaming to be deleting then creating with a new name.
You can set a user to be able to modify but not delete a file. However, they can open the file and delete all the contents of it, which is considered a modify operation. (They just can't modify the filename.) -
