I wanted to take this in December, but I kept pushing it back because I didn't have an abundance of time to study. I almost rescheduled again, but I guess I was ready.
I liked my first CISCO exam! No guessing about what they were asking. Nothing ambiguous. Studied the objectives and breezed through it.
I used the two recommended books (Odom and Lammle) and Jeremy's CBT Nuggets. I used Dynamips to practice commands and work through labs.
If you don't have the money or desire to invest in real equipment, I highly recommend Dynamips. Working with a real IOS really beats those buggy and limited simulators. There are a lot of great tutorials on the web, but this one got me started:blindhog.net Cisco - Dynamips (Router Emulation Software) Installation Tutorial This guy has a lot of great tutorials and info on his site.
I am going to shoot for May 26th for ICND2.
As usual, this site and the members are always a great resource.

Yes, it is a nice change of pace to get a question right or wrong based on whether you actually know the material, not if you can decipher what the question is asking.
Nice score, congrats!
I just wrapped one up today as well. Want to race to ICND2? -

This seems to be the consensus of a lot of people who take Cisco exams. You genuinely feel like you deserved to pass the test. Good luck on ICND2. Thanks for the tutorial link.
