Hey guys, as you can see I don't have any certs marked down as of yet.. Hopefully I can add a 70-640 in the empty space! I currently work help desk so I have very little access to Active Directory but I took classes before (3 yrs ago) I just signed up for the 70-640 exam in the next couple months (because it was free) and need some info! What the best study material for this? Im installing windows server 08 at the moment so I can practice.. If I pass this exam will I receive a MCTS or is there multiple other exams to take to gain "MCTS" status? Please reply!! Thanks.

    From the Microsoft web site

    Credit Toward Certification
When you pass Exam 70-640: TS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring, you complete the requirements for the following certification(s):
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuration

Exam 70-640: TS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring: counts as credit toward the following certification(s):
Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Enterprise Administrator
Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Server Administrator

To answer your question, the single test will qualify you as a MCTS
Going for MCSE:security, Intermediate ITIL, PMP

I believe by passing pretty much any one of the newer Microsoft exams you become MCTS. Kinda like the old MCP. May as well start out easy with Vista and of from there. You will need it for MCITP anyway.

The Windows 7 exam will be out in a couple of months, and that can be applied towards the MCITP: EA as well. At this point, I'd advise people to skip over Vista and do that.

For 640 study materials, check out the MS Press book, Transcender, and hands-on work with VMs.
