I scheduled my exam for thursday and i am scared to death..
I have used Wendell Odom, CBT Nuggets, Train Signal, Packet Tracer to study... & some other power point slides for an overview... I don't know if I am ready as I didn't take any practice tests..
Can anyone suggest a place where I can find some practice SIMS.. ?

If you're scared to death, maybe consider rescheduling it for next week to give yourself additional study time? At $125 a pop, you owe it to yourself to give yourself the best chance possible to pass. Going into the exam scared is just going to create stress and quickly whittle down that 90 minutes before you'd know it. There isn't any rescheduling penalty as long as you do it prior to 24 hours before the exam. Heck, I actually had to move my exam UP by a few hours due to other obligations. :)

Go through the objectives listed at https://cisco.hosted.jivesoftware.com/community/certifications/ccna/icnd1?view=overview and make sure you understand the concepts for each. It's been said before (and after my CCENT pass today, I wholeheartedly agree), but there aren't any surprises or trick questions on the exam; it truly tests whether you know concepts in that list.

I used the Lammle book over the Odom one, but I'm almost positive there's a Boson practice exam that comes with the Odom book. Running through that a few times would help pinpoint what areas need strengthening. The Lammle book comes with two practice exams (written/on cd) that can also help prepare you.

Also, it's been repeated a million times but it's true; subnetting, subnetting, subnetting. You will have questions that focus on it directly or indirectly, and you should be able to subnet in roughly 30 seconds or so. I found CBT useful for explanation/theory, gained speed with http://www.techexams.net/forums/ccna-ccent/38772-subnetting-made-easy.html ,and then used the subnetting-questions website for practice each night.

So please, strongly consider giving yourself more time to prepare; It'll only increase your pre-exam confidence and your overall chances of passing. Good luck! :D

I agree with leviatus. Go through the practise question on Ciscos site. Well worth your time and will give you an idea where your at.

    Good Luck! icon_thumright.gif

You've still got time on the Comeback2009 promotion, so you can always call your first try a "practice test" -- that can take off some of the pressure.

I'm sure you'll survive. I had pre-test and during test jitters for my first exam. After that first one I never got the during test jitters again. And after about 15 Cisco exams I stopped getting the pre-test jitters too.

You can check out the standard pre-exam advice in this thread -- http://www.techexams.net/forums/ccna-ccent/30836-ccent-exam-tuesday-29th-april.html#post209599

Go through the practice questions on this website. Also check out MC MCSE: MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, A+, Network+, CIW, and Linux Certifications for a good practice test. The Boson test that comes with Wendell Odom's Cisco Press book is excellent. If you can pass that test the actual exam should be easy. I used packet tracer for my practice simulator, and an old switch my boss let me borrow. Practice setting up test networks, RIP routes, show commands, and especially the show cdp neighbors detail command. Don't panic if you get a lot of sims or hard questions early in the exam. This test is hard, but if you have studied and know the material you will pass. Good luck to you!

    thanks!!

    Here's what I have for ICND2 preparation :

CBT Nuggets Videos, Wendell Odom Book, Train Signal Videos & Packet Tracer.

Is this going to be enough? I didn't have a lab for ICND1, and after appearing for the exam, it looked like Packet Tracer was more than enough for the kind of questions that were there.
Is this going to be enough for the second exam though?

I gave my ICND1 exam after a little less than two months of preparation... Can anyone give an idea how long should it take for the second exam?
I am planning my exam in July, before the comeback offer ends. I will have a backup in that case.

Thanks again for your help & motivation guys!

CBT Nuggets for ICND2 would be a great addition to your study materials. Other than that you should be fine with waht you have

    For ICND2 i used:
    Lab
    Odom's ICND2
    Lammle's CCNA
    CBT Nuggets ICND2

There are a few more 'Configure, verify....' type questions so make sure you read the exam blueprint to see which things you need to know how to configure/verify/troubleshoot (e.g. EIGRP) and which things you only need to know the theory of (e.g. IPsec VPNs)
