Hello, everyone

ACM provides the computing field's premier Digital Library and serves its members and the computing profession with leading-edge publications, conferences, and career resources.
I joined this site asa student and I get Element K training for $20.00 a year!! These courses often cost s $100 a piece... These courses make it easier and cheaper to study via computer based training. I urge you to check it out. :)

If you pay an extra $99 then you get access to the "ACM Digital Library, which contains full-text of all articles in ACM's journals and magazines, conference proceedings, and SIG newsletters."

yeah, I think you get more than enough with the ~$20 student membership - no need to go spending more money unless you really need those extra resources. I was over the moon when I first stumbled upon this organization/site. I haven't done much on the Element K training side, but I am totally taking advantage of the Books 24x7 access too - it's letting me study for 290 without having to lug around my book, and it gave me some great extra resources to use in studying for my finals. I dig it.
Currently Studying For: Nothing (cert-wise, anyway)
    Next Up: Security+, 291?

Enrolled in Masters program: CS 2011 expected completion

I spent $19 to join the ACM today and this is an incredible resource. Definitely the best $19 I've spent in a long time. I had planned to go watch some football and soccer out at the bar today but I've been exploring the acm site and doing labs all day instead.

Thought I would do a search on here and see what other people were saying about it. I found this thread and thought it deserved a bump.

Looks like a great resource, will probably sign up soon. I get access to Skillport through the Army but I get out soon so I will probably lose access

I question learning resources that still have stuff like Windows NT 4.0 System Administration as a learning guide. I'm sure there may STILL be some shops throughout the planet that still have them, but I'm not looking to work at those....lmao.

Then again, $19 to access CISSP classes, is definitely worth it. They do have some Windows 7 classes as well.

I don't feel like I really need more, but for $1.58 a month, why not?
Decide what to be and go be it.

It seems like there are great student discounts for everything in the world. I want to go back to school anyway and the insanely discounted stuff seems like a great perk.

I'm a little penny wise and pound foolish. "I can save 80 dollars on something so I should go even deeper into crippling, inescapable debt!"
