Traffic generator for multicast

Anyone got a suggestion for a good traffic generator that supports multicast? I'd really like to have an actual working multicast application in place of the generator but will take what I can get. Open source would be prefered but I don't mind spend a little bit of cash. I have 6 servers with ESX and just about any platform under the sun available to me so I'm open to suggestions.

When i wanted to do multicasting i fired up a copy of Alvin and the chipmonks using VLC media player in multicast mode you can even choose the address you want. loved it

Yea, I used VLC for multicast as well, it was very helpful.

Thanks for the VLC player idea that will be easy and I'll be able to get a lot of traffic going.

I found this Multicast packet generator called MINT a while back but never had the chance to play around with it.

Maybe someone else can find it useful and report back here to let us all know how it all worked out
