Monitor Successful and Unsuccessful VPN Logins

kctxaukctxau Member Posts: 130
I can't seem to remember how to do this.
The goal is to monitor the successful and unsuccessful VPN logins/attempts on a W2k3 server. This would be used to get a better idea of the number of Cisco VPN licenses needed.
Thank-you, for your time and your help.

So the end goal is to monitor Remote Access VPN Licenses needed? Are they IPSec through an ASA? How is authentication being performed? Are you using the local ASA database, RADIUS, TACACS?? More info please.

You mention W2k3. I'm assuming you have people using RDP to that guy over VPN, which may very well be an incorrect assumption. Is that box being used for VPN authentication?

Yea, how does 2k3 fit into the equation? Are you using IAS?

Thank-you for the reply's. Turns out I was only getting part of the story from the requestor. A little digging revealed that the PIX is doing the monitoring in this situation.
