How does router and switch handle packets destined for broadcast address?

    You'll want to make sure you understand broadcast domains and collision domain concepts..... But in general:
    Routers drop broadcasts
    Switches forward broadcasts

    The router do not forward broadcast IP PACKETS unless otherwise configured.
    A layer 3 switch do not forward broadcast IP PACKETS unless otherwise configured.

    The router do not forward broadcast FRAMES.
    The Switch forwards broadcast FRAMES out of the all the interfaces of the same vlan except the interface on which the broadcast FRAMES is received.

    An L3 switch WILL forward broadcasts (within a broadcast domain) on its L2 ports.
