It is a hardware difference. IOS for 2950s is combined now. The same image does SI and EI. You can't make a SI 2950 into a EI 2950.

I know there is a difference, I have a 2950 that is capable of running the EI. When I do a Sh run it says its running standard.

I was looking for the filname of the EI.

    EDIT:

So the latest IOS does Standard and Enhanced? When I do a sh run, will it say Enhanced or Standard?

    Edit 2:

Where can i find a list of the most recent IOS for the 2950?

The list of available IOS images is on CCO.

The latest is 12.1.22EA13 which is c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA13.bin

I thought earlier versions weren't combined but I can't find them on CCO since they moved everything around recently.

What is the exact model number of your 2950?

According to Cisco, that has 24x 10/100 ports and 2 fixed 100BASE-FX uplink ports which only comes with EI. What version of IOS is on there?

If you can turn on RSTP then you are running an EI IOS. I have 2x 2950G switches running c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.ea12.bin
