SNAF done... wow!

What a great exam. I managed a pass with an 854, but was really surprised. I studied this thing for almost four months and was still hammered with no less than 10 questions that I had to guess on.
I used the Cisco ASA, PIX and FWSM Firewall Handbook by Hucaby as my main resource, and then scored the new CBT Nuggets program for the SNAF... big help. Then I did something I've never done before... I went line by line through the exam blueprint, googling on each topic to make sure I had it solid.
MODERATED I'm still a little weak in the threat-detection and scanning-detection area... had to guess a few times there.
So I thought I'd do the SNRS next. Any good resources for that one? Is there a current Exam Guide or Cert Guide for it? I'm sure there's Nuggets too.
Thanks,
Mike

There are only 10 kinds of people... those who understand binary, and those that don't.

The only thing current from Cisco Press for SNRS is the Quick Reference Sheets.
The current CCSP exams are as light on Cisco Press self-study books as the CCVP was when I did that one..... not fun!!
The exam blueprint and the old book's tables of contents can help decided what's important, but sometime you'll still have to read a bunch of stuff before you can decide if it's important for the exams or not.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -

mikearama Member Posts: 749Sorry Mike... I guess I didn't think just stating the number of sim questions (minus their content) was still a disclosure issue. My bad.
Yes, it was a different process, studying for this one, in the absence of cert and exam guides. "Not fun" is right.
Hey teaser... what do you mean by "firewall specialist"? I know, I know, I give away how little I know asking silly questions... I just haven't heard of that 'title' before. EDIT: Ah, found it. So both the SNAF and the SNAA does a Firewall Specialist make. Sweet. Guess that just made the elective choice easy, eh? Prolly my choice anyway, but now it's a for-sure.
Shednik... you got to go to ASA training? Lucky bastard. Not my gig... all training is at my expense. So short sighted (in my opinion, anyway). There are only 10 kinds of people... those who understand binary, and those that don't.
