Hi, i just wanted to confirm my knowledge with you guys please:

Switch -> router = straight through
Switch -> switch = crossover
Router -> router = crossover

my understand is that devices that work on the same layer of the OSI model use crossover if they different eg Switch being layer 2 and Router being layer 3 then its a straight?

Am i correct?

thanks! bowing.gif

    Router and PCs are like devices. Hubs and Switches are like devices. Use crossovers between like devices, and straight-through otherwise.

    The examples you listed are correct, but the bonus question is, when do you use a rollover cable? ;)
