Which Cable to use

Hi, i just wanted to confirm my knowledge with you guys please:
Switch -> router = straight through
Switch -> switch = crossover
Router -> router = crossover
my understand is that devices that work on the same layer of the OSI model use crossover if they different eg Switch being layer 2 and Router being layer 3 then its a straight?
Am i correct?

The examples you listed are correct, but the bonus question is, when do you use a rollover cable? -
