Quick question on expiring cert

Folks,

I passed the Intro in Oct 2006 so that's valid till Oct 2009. If I took the ICND2, say in September, and passed, would I be able to obtain the CCNA or would I have to pass both ICND1 and 2. Thanks.

INTRO was retired over a year ago and as far as I know is no longer a valid prerequisite for CCNA.

So, unfortunately you'd have to do both ICND1 and 2 (or the combined exam).

If I pass the INTRO exam and pass ICND2, will I achieve CCNA certification?

Yes. The INTRO 640-821 exam can be combined with the ICND2 640-816 exam to complete CCNA certification for as long as the INTRO exam is valid—up to three years from date that you pass the INTRO exam, per standard policy.

The INTRO 640-821 and ICND 640-811 exams will not be available after November 6, 2007.
