Mof, smf...wtf?

I have been hitting this pretty hard lately, reviewing with a couple of sources and I felt that I had it pretty decent. Last night I decided to check out the CD that comes from the MS Press kit "powered by MeasureUP". I failed miserably 67%. I couldn't find anywhere in my other two resources that talked about Microsoft Operational Framework or ESP integrity vs. ESP confidentiality. My confidence is shaken quite a bit now. How good is the information contained in the MeasureUp test simulator for 70-293?

The general consensus is that MeasureUp is garbage. MOF is beyond the scope of the exam, but I'm surprised you don't know the difference between confidentiality and integrity. That should have been hammered home in both the 291 and 293 material.

I should have qualified that, sorry. I meant that ESP confidentiality uses 3DES and ESP integrity uses SHA1. Security was my week point in 291. My next step is to go back over my 291 security resources.

You should brush up on encryption and signing algorithms. The choice would be obvious once you get those down. This is why having the Security+ before 291 and 293 helps a ton.

Thank you for the motivation Dynamik! I really hit security algorithms and IPSec hard in the books, online, and in my lab in the last two days. Even with that said, I'm not sure how tomorrow will end up. I also see the foolishness in my previous post.

Heh, I didn't say it was foolish. That just seemed rather basic compared to the rest of the material that the exam encompasses. Good luck with your exam!
