Vista quicker after installing SP2 anyone??

I have installed sp2 on 3 vista machines, and they all seem quicker, especially at startup/shutdown. Has anyone any thoughts/experiences?

Complete opposite to be honest and why the hell does it keep sniffing at my HD. I did do IE8 at the same time... Update wasn't giving me anything in weeks until I installed IE8 which I think is very naughty. Doesn't seem to be much different from 7 except it whiped my history out completely.

Will give it a couple of days to settle down and lose interest in my HD.

I havnt noticed any performance hit except I do have the wonderful Bluescreen at shutdown/hibernate or where it just doesnt shut down at all for 10-15 mintutes.

Strangely SP2 on Server 2008 works flawlessly.

They need to patch this crap, fast. Im tired of waiting on my laptop to shut down.

I haven't noticed any performance change.
I was kinda hoping it may speed up something, but nope. Nothing.

It offered me SP2 the day it was released and I hadn't installed IE8 yet.

Vista is like so totally 2008 and stuff. I've got Win7 on all my machines now...

I noticed a modest speed increase with SP2 myself. No stability issues whatsoever.
    Good luck to all!

Win 7 on all machines? haha, i bet thats a good learning curve! Do you find it much quicker than vista? Roll on oct 22nd!!

I installed sp2 on a vista laptop last night actually, and my wifi stopped working, it connected but only with limited connectivity (for no reason) first time it rebooted, it connected, if i rebooted it again, it wouldn't. Strange! I even attempted to re install the drivers, but this crashed. oops.

It seemed to wipe out all my system restore options too - even though as soon as the installation starts, it says creating a restore point... icon_sad.gif

I ended up re imaging the laptop, then off a clean install, upgraded to sp2 again, and this worked fine.

Many people will probably disagree with me, and i almost know it is inevitable, but i hope vista doesn't go down the same track Windows (M)istake (E)dition did. :)

I installed SP2, just to play with it, but then I put Win 7 on it. Much faster after that :)
