Licencsing Solution

Hi,

I was hoping to get some advice regarding a solution to manage and track ownership of Licences. We currently install out licences then have to update a call logging system with the licence details, computer registered to and user. I have used much better solutions in the past like managesoft. However this is fairly expensive and we are a small company so were looking for a free or very cheap alternative. Does anyone know of any suitable solutions??

Check out Front Range License Manager. That and Discovery integrate wonderfully. We've been using it here for quite a while.

Thanks for you help. I have just called them and the cost for a licence is £26 per machine including support.

I think we've got $6k in the entire project but we also have quite a few seats too. I think it comes out to roughly $30.00/seat.

any free CMDB that you guys know off that lets you manage and track licences and computers?

I have seen excel used in 3000+ system environments with no problems. If you can keep good tables it shouldn't be a problem.
