Hi Friends,
I want to practice JNCIP & JNCIE and wanna build my own lab. I have few question regarding my LAB.
1:- How many routers i would need if I wanna do both LABs
2:- Does J-Series Routers supports Logical Routers ( Systems)
3:- can I practice all the technologies on J-Series Routers
sorry forgot to mention I am doing M-series
thanks in advance for all your comments.

Hyder

1: - The sybex books for the IP and the IE labs cover 7 internal and I believe 5 external routers. Sooo if you could get your hands on 7 j series and use olives for your external routers you should be good to go.
2: - nope, j-series do not support logical routers, I really really wish they did.
3: - yup, you can do everything that is found in the IP and IE sybex books on the J series routers. As far as technologies go the one thing they are missing is being able to configure VPLS, but that's not covered in either the IP or the IE

i'd love to have those also, if you dont mind of course
so, i heard that cisco is your next journey,
would you care for some exchange? those j's for some 3560s? i think the ratio is about 3j : 1c, fair enough?

Aldur Member Posts: 1,460lol, i'd probably keep all the routers running and watch the power bill climb!
Yes indeed I want to make myself invaluable by having both Juniper and Cisco knowledge/certs. Would have a pretty serious lab going there if I built it up with Cisco's too, I can just imagine my power bill then..."Bribe is such an ugly word. I prefer extortion. The X makes it sound cool."
