I just finished chapter 9 of the MS press book and, have a question about licensing. Windows Server 03 comes with 5 CALS (at least the OEM version does). When you switch from Per server to Per device or user mode, are these licenses included? or are they only for Per server license mode?
All the servers I have built, I configured them as Per server, and I added Cals as needed. I had wondered if you use the one-time switch from Per server to per device/user mode would the 5 licenses that comes with Winsrv 03 be included.
I have never set up a network that needed multiple servers, which a Per device/user mode would be more practical but, I wanted to know for future reference just in case.
