C1700 ugrading ios problem

Hi,

I want to upgraded my Cisco 1700.....from c1700-k9o3sy7-mz.123-11.T5.bin to c1700-k9o3sy7-mz.123-26.bin

My router is reloading non stop.

    Mainline 12.3 doesn't support the 1712. You need 12.3T or above.

    If you still have the old IOS then you can put it back on using T FTP in ROMMON.

    No problem.

    If there aren't any letters in the name then it is a mainline release. They are the stable releases of that version of IOS. Cisco don't add any major new features in the mainline releases.
    If you see a T in the name then it means it is the Technology train of IOS. This is the branch where they do development. Cisco will be adding new features in it like hardware support. The last T release in that version becomes the basis of new mainline releases of the next version.

    12.3 -> 12.3T -> 12.4 -> 12.4T
