anyone have any suggestions on where good practice subnet questions and answers are on the internet?

There are two websites that I use quite frequently to keep fresh on subnetting:
This one gives you the network ID and the amount of subnets that are required. From this you must determine the number of bits that need to be borrowed so that you can determine the subnet mask to be used. Then, you can determine the 1st available host address of subnet 1. Finally you determine the max number of hosts available per subnet:

This one gives you an IP address along with the bit notation and from that you must determine the network address, broadcast address, and the subnet mask to use.
