route map question

Hi. Can anyone explain to me the function of the set ip address prefix-list in a route-map config? I came across this because i am looking for a way to redirect traffic to an ip address in a dmz connected to an ASA. I am familiar with the set nexthop and default next hop but i cannot find any info on the set ip address option of the route-map. I normally use match ip address list but never as a set option. I would really appreciate any help on this. I need to find out a way to use route-map to redirect traffic beyong the next hop ip address.
