No Sound from CD Player in Fedora Core 2
mwgood
I recently set up a dual boot system with XP Home and Fedora Core 2.
The sound works fine when tested, except for when I try to play an audio CD with the bundled generic CD player. The CD progresses like it is playing, yet no sound. I've checked the volume settings - nothing is muted, and all appears to be well. I've googled the problem a few times, but haven't been able to find anything substantial.
Anyone else run into this problem before, or any good ideas?
Thanks.

You have an audio cable going from your CD-ROM to the sound card, right? Just checking...

why don't you use alsamixer to unmute the sound, the sound is muted by default, your best bet is to check it there.
