Advice for buying Cisco equipment from ebay?

Have been talking to ITDaddy and he is advising that if you are building a Cisco home lab for CCNA, to buy your equipment from ebay. I'm also seeing others saying this as well.

If this is the case, what type of things should we be keeping in mind when buying? I am new to Cisco equipment and don't want to get burned.

Don't buy equipment that isn't tested. If it says AS-IS or UNTESTED then keep away from it.
Try to avoid equipment which doesn't have a boot log in the description.
Pay with Paypal so you get the buyer protection.
Search for completed auctions to see what the average price is.
Try to get equipment with maxed out RAM and Flash so you don't need to upgrade later on. Examine this router model table from mgeorge.
Read the two threads BadBoy House linked to.
Read this guide on buying a CCNA lab.
Use the search function in this forum.

EDIT: AH HA!! The link text says ccna-ccent, but it's actually missing from the URL. What you see is the valid URL, but the actual link URL is wrong.

There are some good deals on ebay. There is a guy selling some 2650XM's on there for $95 with 12.4 IOS, 256MB of DRAM and 46MB of flash, which is more than anyone I have found. The Routers also come with a one year warranty. The guys name is Brandon, not quite sure what the companies name is, do a search, you'll find it.

Brandon has confirmed that his 2650XMs only has 128/32.

if that's brandon from optimumdata, he's alright, I've bought equipment from him in the past and never had a problem
