in CCNA & CCENT
hey im just introducing myself.. i have been reading a few posts.. i see you guys provide help n support for the upcoming CCNA..
my story is i just got out the military doing IT...Satcom last few years.. im waiting for a job overseas...waiting....waiting... biting my nails.. so i decided while i wait to get my CCNA hopefully my car doesnt get reposessed in the process.. lolz
I first got intro'd to CCNA back in job corps like in 2000 ..but went the a+ route n never took the test for that..then joined the service. talked **** for 8 years how i was going to do it while i waisted time in the mil doing dumbshit...<fast forward>
so hear i am I have icnd 1 / 2 guides by wendell odom ..and a simulator from boson somebody hooked me up with i have access n funds to some caffiene energy drinks and im going to town.. i want to go in and take the combined exam by the end of this month... a coworker of mine did the CCNA bootcamp but i swear this guy is as dumb as a rock sometimes..he passed btw... i decided that the bootcamp cost too much money, plus i want to actually LEARN. .. so im doing it the ''hard way""
btw my name is Wendell.. i aspire to be a CCIE like wendell odom one day...

But a lot of what you learned back then should still be good now -- so one month isn't an unreasonable time frame.
Using a Simulator isn't the perfect solution -- but it is an acceptable solution. Boson is probably enough to pass the exam, but may not do some things like SDM.

I briefly used the Boson NetSim simulator. I found it to be acceptable, if you follow the guidelines of what you're trying to accomplish in that particular lab. It will make you familiar with the command line, but a lot of the stuff you'll see on real equipment is simply absent, like the ability to look at anything that's too far beyond the scope of the lab you're working on.
Honestly, I didn't find it that helpful, but I also had access to real equipment. If you don't, I'd say it will be sufficient to pass if you supplement that with other sources. -
