in CCNA & CCENT
I decided to take composite to avoid the very detailed questions. I felt very confident going in and was very happy to have passed!
Just purchased Cisco's offical self study guide for BCMSN and will start next week.

Is it true that you get your CCENT cert aswell as CCNA cert. I heard that you get both if you pass the 640 - 802 exam?
Best of luck with your CCNP quest.

No, you don't get the CCENT if you have passed the CCNA single exam.Currently studying:

As others have answered, no, but. . .
That's not to say you can't earn both with a similar route.
Taking the ICND1 and THEN the composite earns you both. Yes, it's more expensive to go that route than to take ICND2 as the second exam, but taking the ICND1 gets your feet wet and gets you a cert en route.Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

I think the CCNA exam does have more questions than the ICND2 exam, but they have to use up a bunch of them asking the "easy ICND1 stuff" -- so the CCNA exam may actually be "easier" than the ICND2 exam. And since the ICND2 stuff builds on what you learned while studying for the ICND1 exam, you shouldn't really forget anything important from the ICND1 exam topics that are in the composite CCNA exam topics.
If you don't need (or want) the CCENT "resume candy" then the 640-802 single CCNA exam is a good option.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -

As I just posted in another threadOnce you have the CCNA, the CCENT isn't as important -- but you never know what HR will consider important when you apply for a job. While the CCNA IS better than the CCENT, HR may have a listing requiring an MCSA and CCENT and ignore your resume if you didn't have the CCENT (and have it listed).Someone without a lot of job experience to fill up their resume may want the CCENT Certification just to take up another line on their resume.
A noob may want and need that CCENT on their resume..... but other experienced people can probably get away with out it (or without listing it).
The only Cisco Specialization I list on my "main resume" is the Cisco IP Telephony Design Specialist -- that's the only one that isn't "represented" by either my CCVP or CCSP. Plus that's also the one certification that has gotten me the most calls & emails from headhunters. And my "programmer resume" doesn't mention any of my Cisco certifications at all. And none of my resumes has ever mentioned any Hardware or Microsoft Server skills.....:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -

Admittedly, I missed mentioning that. If you go the ICND1/Composite route, drop that CCENT when you're done.
It's also a more expensive route, but may be worth it for some.Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

Please tell us, how hard was the CCNA exam, how many questions, which area of the curriculum was more used?
Thanks! -
