Published application can't be seen by clients
binarysoul
I was able to publish an .msi application, but users connected to the domain can't see it with they go to Add/Remove Programs.
I first created an Organization Unit under the domain and then published a shared folder. Then I put the .msi application in that folder. I then created a Group Policy Object (GPO) and pointed it to the shared folder.
What am I doing wrong. Permissions maybe?

When you went to "add/remove programs" did you click on "add new programs?"
And... If you did that did you use GPupdate/gpresult to ensure the policy was in place?

Yes, I clicked on add new program and it "searches network", but no software is found. I used gpupdate and gpresult on PC and server, they run fine. I named the policy object as MSI-STUFF, but I don't see it in the output of these two commands. Should I see the policy object I created?
I'm able to see the share and able to install the app from there, but the app doesn't get published via GPO.

Are you sure that your user account is in the OU you have assigned to GPO to? If you are logging in as the administrator, it is probably not in the correct OU.
Yes, it should show up in GPResult...
