Does anyone if you have to take the test within a certain amount of time from using this code. For example, lets say I take my ccent this friday and fail. Can i use the code and schedule the exam for 2 months from this friday even though that date is after Jul 20th?

I think it's been mentioned a few time that the free retest must be taken within the promotion period -- so you have to schedule and TAKE the 2nd try by (on) July 20th. You can try asking Cisco Online Certification support for verification (and the official answer).

People who haven't already taken their "practice test" have to remember that there is a 5 day waiting period between exam attempts after a failure.
