Cisco 3550s for Routing Labs

CyanicCyanic Member Posts: 289
How much of the routing labs can I do with a set of 3550s? Looking at the feature set for ip services, it looks like lacks OSPFv3. Does anyone know what else I would be lacking. My work is decommissioning a bunch of these and will let me use them to practice with, but I am thinking they may not help too much with BSCI.

Thanks

I think “very senior” gets stuck in there because the last six yahoos that applied for the position couldn’t tell a packet from a Snickers bar.

    I have 2, looking for 1 more!

You may still want to look at GNS3/Dynamips for the bsci unless you have the necessary routers at your disposal. Somehow I inherited two 2811s, two 3745s and a bunch of 2620s at work (with no modules of course).

I wish I could sell them. They go out to auction by the pallet when we excess them. Then will probably end up on ebay or in schools.

I figured there would be too much to in the non-BSCMSN exams for the 3550's, but it sounds like GNS3 should really help to fill in the rest.
