Hardware Names?

Does anyone know of a good guide that will help me understanding the naming?
For example I'm looking at picking up a 2950, but there are so many of them out there!
WS-C2950-12, WS-C2950-24, WS-C2950C-24, WS-C2950T-24, WS-C2950G-12-EI, WS-C2950G-24-EI, WS-C2950G-24-EI-DC, WS-C2950G-48-EI, WS-C2950SX-24, WS-C2950SX-48-SI, WS-C2950T-48-SI
Just looking at the names I can make some guesses on some of it, but not all of it. I have been doing some reading on the Cisco site - I'm sure the info is out there... but if anyone happens to know where it would help.
Thanks again!

Cisco Catalyst Switch Guide PDF
There's a table on page that says 91 of the PDF that lists the models and a quick description. That's after the multipage hardware comparison between the models.
You could also check out these two data sheets

Current 2950 models.
Discontinued 2950 models.
WS-C2950<model code>-<number of ports>-<software image>-<power>
Model codes:
<nothing> = No dedicated uplink ports
C = 100BASE-FX uplink
G = GBIC 1000BASE-X uplink
T = 1000BASE-T uplink
SX = 1000BASE-SX uplink
Software image:
SI = Standard Image
EI = Enhanced Image
Power:
<nothing> = AC
DC = DC power -

These two guide go well with the Cisco Partner Central Portable Product Sheets page that has smaller and more specific PDFs available for various things like Switch Performance, Router Memory, Router Performance, NM/WIC/VWIC Compatibility, VPN Performance, etc.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -
tiersten Member Posts: 4,505For a lab, it doesn't really matter which one you buy so long as it isn't the DC one (unless of course you've got the necessary DC PSU to run it)
Preferably you'd buy at least one switch that has the Enhanced Image on it but it isn't critical.
Number of ports isn't important either. 12 will be fine but so will 48 if you can get a good deal on one.
