What IOS image do you have and what settings?

Without actually knowing what error you're getting, it is pretty hard to help you. The stuff that is scrolling past isn't gibberish or nonsense.

Settings like amount of RAM, WICs/NMs inserted and what model router it is trying to emulate.

What is the filename of the IOS you're trying to load?

Set it to 2621XM + RAM to 128MB and try again.

Set RAM to 128 and it works!!!

    Thank you!

Any tips on how I can get Putty to launch when I click Console?

Right now the cmd prompt loads.

I tried setting the Preferences as jbrad suggested on Page 1.

    No luck as yet.

    What is the filename?

You've probably got a 2600XM IOS which requires more than 64MB RAM to run.

Yes. The name of the file before you decompressed it.

blindhog.net GNS3 - How to use Putty for console access.

This is how to do it on the older version. The only thing that I can remember doing different is not having the "start" on the line. Just the c:\putty\ etc...

    Got it.

    Needed the start command!

    I thought I wasn't supposed to include it! crash.gif

Yeah. You're missing part of the filename. "9mz" doesn't make any sense unless its k9mz and even then thats missing something.

Sorry, I will get the right name once I get it.

Not familiar with IOS names and what they mean.

    Post again shortly.

Cisco simplified the packaging and naming of IOS awhile ago. Read the IOS packaging PDF to work out what the various letters mean.

There are other very handy reference documents available as well.

It is IOS for a 2600XM router and requires a minimum of 96MB RAM. Change your dynamips settings so it is a 2600XM of some kind.
