So I'm finally gonna start on CCNA, just passed CCENT. I hear alot of great things about Todd Lamle's Sybex book for CCNA.

What I'm confused about is, wouldn't this book be for people going the one exam route (640-802)? Since I took the two exam route would this book still be a good idea or would I be going over alot of the same stuff? ( which I guess wouldnt be a bad idea) Any body recomend this book or know of another for the ICND 2 exam? Thanks

Lammle is pretty much considered the bible for CCNA studies, and it's good for either exam route. The only real difference between the one and two exam options is that it lets you focus your studies a little more instead of having to know everything all at once.

Amazon.com: CCNA ICND2 Official Exam Certification Guide (CCNA Exams 640-816 and 640-802) (2nd Edition): Wendell Odom: Books

Half way through this book and got to recommend it. I hear it is one of the most detailed books for CCNA studies. Lammle tends not to delve far enough into some concepts required for the CCNA test.

Woa...Seems like everyone here has high regards for this book.

So will I have to get both the Lammie book along with Odom book too?

You should always use multiple sources. Personally, I'm going with Odom, Train Signal, Transcender, and lab work. That got me through ICND1; hopefully the next one will go as smoothly.

I agree with dynamik. Its always good to have more than one source, but if you only get one I'd make it the Odom books.

Thanks. I ended up getting Odem's ICND2 book because I hear it goes into more detail and I already used his ICND1 book so I'm used to the format. between that and CBT Nuggets I should be alright.
